OUR HERITAGE AND VISION

David Lloyd really needs very little introduction and his record speaks for itself. After a successful professional tennis career which culminated in being appointed Captain of the British Davis Cup team, he founded David Lloyd Leisure, a business that today still bears his name. David was also chairman of Hull City AFC for a short time and coach and mentor to British tennis star Tim Henman.

David made his name in the City when the leisure business was floated on the Stock Exchange in 1992 and subsequently sold to Whitbread plc in 1995 for a record £200million.

David has travelled to all parts of the world throughout his career and has a passion for property. He has extensive personal property interests and developed the highly acclaimed Sugar Hill Resort in Barbados where purchasers included Sir Cliff Richard, John Lodge of the Moody Blues and entertainers Bob Monkhouse and Jasper Carrot.

David lives in Surrey, enjoys playing golf and is a keen collector of art. In 2007 he purchased Willard Wigan’s collection of micro sculptured art.

That vision has stood the test of time and the clubs continue to flourish to this day, with David Lloyd becoming a household name in the leisure industry.

“My tennis career and the success of David Lloyd Leisure enabled me to travel the world. I have always had a passion for property and have been lucky enough to invest in and develop some amazing property in some wonderful locations.

“My vision today is to combine luxury property and international travel with, above all, trust and transparency. Over the past few years, overseas property has been fraught with risk with unscrupulous agents and developers treating buyers with contempt. People’s desire to travel and own good quality property in exciting locations exists today as much as ever, perhaps even more so, but buyers are being far more cautious, and rightly so.

“My aim and that of my team is to eliminate as far as possible the risk associated with purchasing property overseas. By creating our Customer Charter, we have worked hard to ensure that basic, simple rules are followed and all due diligence is carried out before recommending any property to you.
